AeroClub

Hello,

Anyone know the state of the Aero Club? I've tried looking at their webpage but it looks like it has been down for two years. I've also tried calling without much success.

Thanks!

Re: AeroClub

TA should cover most of it if not all if you decide to take the course.

Re: AeroClub

Their number is DSN 784-4424. $250/hr seems like a lot, but its been several years since I've paid for an airplane.

this number MAY or MAY NOT be pulled out of my a$$. My husband was interested in joining, then I looked at the facts, and it was a very large sum of money per/hour and I decided for him that he does not, in fact, need a hobby flying.

But its not cheap.

WOW......You decided.....

First, it's not $250 an hours to fly....MAYBE starting off WITH and instructor to teach you how to fly.....but after that......

Flying is not cheap, but some people want to do it (lifelong dream, etc). They should have some sort of introductory flight program where you pay a minimal fee ($50ish) and get a logbook and a hour or so of flight time and maybe some sim time.

Someone mentioned using TA. Not sure about that, but definately worth looking into.

Re: AeroClub

I looked into it and yes it is active. In addition the prices are actually pretty cheap in comparison to what I saw in the states. It's $88/hour for plane, fuel, and instructor. There is currently only one instructor at the moment but he seems pretty awesome. I took a lesson from him and I am impressed. I hear they'll be adding another instructor in the next month or two.

In addition to the hourly rate there is a monthly fee of $22.
