Bush campaign team joins John McCain
Looks like the Bush people are starting to back John McCain for the 2008 President run.

Ron Weiser, who was Bush's finance chairman in Michigan in 2000, has also joined McCain.
Honestly, if McCain or Guliani runs with Condi Rice as their VP, it will be 8 more years for Republicans. I don't think Hillary has a chance against either of them. Then Condi will run for President in 2016 and be the first female and African-American president.

That is not beyond belief. Close, but not beyond. McCain tried before. Probably can't change enough to do it. Clint Eastwood would have a better chance. The American public (sheeple) is/are a strange voting group. Remember, they put Clinton in TWICE! John Travolta could beat McCain, as could Shirley McClain's brother. All it takes is being handsome, or popular. A Republican both popular and handsome would be a shoo- in!

I am not sure about that. Remember, John McCain was approached by John Kerry to be his VP because he knew McCain was loved by Democrats and Republicans. McCain only lost to President Bush in the primaries because of the strong conservative part of the party.

Also, almost all of my Democrat friends have stated openly that if McCain ran, they would vote for him over Hillary or Kerry. John McCain is a moderate as is Guliani. These guys will take a ton of votes from the moderate Democrats who are sick of Ted Kennedy and Pelosi running their party into the ground.

I think a McCain/Guliani ticket would win by 5% or more over a Hillary/Edwards or other Democratic ticket. Just think if Republicans took NY because of Guliani on the ticket. Democrats can not win a presidency without NY and California as they make up almost half of the electoral votes Democrats win every election.

I have trouble believing any Democrat can win for a long time, simply because of their horrendous track record.

Probably a Charismatic Republican of any sort can win if he promises to cut taxes, save social security and says lets cut this war short and start taking care of our own country first. (Assuming the "war" drags on for three more years.) If it doesn't, the Republicans will say,"See we won the war" and the sheeple will keep following them.

Female candidates? Not a problem for me personally. Both prospects are smarter than most of our previous presidents! But always a big problem for foreign policy and traditionally for warfighting. Even considering my previous posts stating a chimpanzee could be elected, given the right circumstances, I can't see either a lady or a chimp winning this next election.

My favorite politician and probable Presidential contender for the Republicans is Mitt Romney the current Massachusetts governor. Can you imagine being a Republican governor in the state that continues to elect Ted Kennedy and John Kerry?

What really sold me is when he told his assistant to read through all of his speeches and list every campaign promise he made during the election. He then either accomplished them or at least introduced legislation that failed. He is a true man of his word, which is rare in today's politics!

I also like Ford Jr. the congressman from Tennessee. Yes he is a Democrat!
