Throughout my life, I found that 99.98% of all the people who claim to have strong faith and follow the teachings of their Holy Bible are the ones who commit the most and worst sins. They generally act nice to each other but cold to outsiders...use their church prayers more like a "wishing well" for personal gain.

I found those who have no religion or do not attend church and aren't "influenced" by the other cult...I mean church members are the nicest people in the world; naturally nice and ethical people.
Hi....eddie !
You're a nice person too.
Have a good time !

Talking To each, his own..

It is a matter of individual choice. Christians, true believing types, feel an obligation to invite others to share their faith. Indeed, the bible calls for it.
But it says, "Go forth and preach the Gospel to all Nations...". It doesn't say to shove it down their throat and knock on their door every weekend, and pester them until they stop answering the door when they see a stranger in a necktie and white shirt! I will tell you about my beliefs, and why I got there, if I am asked. Or I may tell you, if you show interest in seeking something to believe in. Most people have an innate curiosity as to a "First Cause". Does anyone think the world just "Happened"? Butterflies, hummingbirds, humans, roses? That big bang theory would be tough for me to swallow.

Ok, I moved the thread and unlocked it. Mr. Joe and Eddie, do you have the capability to move threads? If not please let me know so I can upgrade your powers.

I consider myself a scientists and not much into religion. I have studied all of the worlds major religions but don't commit to any of them. So, I guess you could call me an atheist. I believe that when we die, we simply rot and become part of the earth again just like animals. I think religion is a control mechanism used to control the world.

Haha Mike, I totally agree with your thought of religion as a "control of the masses." I also have embraced or at least looked into various forms of religion, but do not consider myself to be any one particularly. I often refer to myself as agnostic, which means I do not believe in a "god" more so I believe in a higher power/being. I guess that I believe there is something out there that I can not explain or understand. As I stepped away from more conventional religious sects I realized that many control their followers through fear -- of going to hell. This is very prevelant in numerous mainstream religious beliefs. Still, I am all for religion because if it helps someone then that is enough for me. I just wish that people would keep their personal beliefs to themselves more often, especially prominent figures in US society.. -cough- Bush.

Threads have merged...

Sorry to cause more confusion...
The thread was moved (copied)...the original was closed...then reopened...causing this topic to branch in two seperate ways. I thought I'd just combine them.

It seems to me that so many churches in Korea influence their members to do so many things for the church and not leave that particular church. Are there as many churches in North America that do that? I don't know. My family was mostly Catholic. Although I know that some Catholics become quite involved in church communities, it just doesn't seem as serious as it is in Korea. I did have one boyfriend in Canada who was New Apostolic and they seemed to be quite close knit. But, I've heard of people in Korea who go to Church everyday. I think some people don't even work, they just do things at the church everyday. I know one Korean girl right now that can't even take a weekend to go away with her boyfriend because she's so dedicated to her "jobs" at her church on Sunday. She won't even attend another church!
I guess it depends on personality, but my Korean boyfriend now told me that he's tried to go to different churches, but he just stopped because they wanted more of his time. He actually liked going to church, but other than going, he just wanted to be left alone.
