Re: Bush Exploited, Shamed 9/11

I'd like to ask though, of those counties that you listed how meny of them are in a majority goverment? remember a lot of counties in this world run on more then a 2 party system, canada has 4 or 5 (and can have more depending on if there able to get 10 seats in parlament or not)

its a lot easier to be in good favours with people who voted for you vs people who didn't. now if you got into power with only 34% of the vote there now 66% of the people are going to start hating you

Re: Bush Exploited, Shamed 9/11

I don't know what multi-party systems has anything to do with this.

First, there are more than two parties in the US. Most people vote either Democrat or Republican, but that is only because they don't want to throw away their vote. Here are a few lists:

http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm
http://dir.yahoo.com/Government/U_S_...itics/Parties/

Give Americans some credit! Not everyone that is a Democrat says they disapprove of Republican presidents and vice versa. I could show you plenty of examples of US or foreign leaders with a higher approval rating than the percentage of vote they received. There are several reasons. First, people polled for the approval rating do NOT have to be registered voters or have voted in the previous election. They are randomly sampled.

Again, just because you don't like the FACTS doesn't make them wrong. Facts are fact, Bush has a higher approval rating than most other world leaders, excluding communists and dictators where people say they are happy or are killed or imprisoned.

So what are you saying, Mike. Throw out the one's you don't like? I'm just saying, comparing apples and oranges doesn't show anything.

Quote:
Ok, going by your theory let's take a look at the popular vote of the past two Presidents.

1992 Bill Clinton 43%
1996 Bill Clinton 49%
2000 George Bush 48%
2004 George Bush 51%
Your confusing what an election measures. It doesn't measure how much you like a president. It measures how much you want one person to be president more than another. Comparing election percentages between different candidates in different races is inane.

Quote:
Who was more popularly elected? Which one is more popular in the media? You would think Bill Clinton was the most popular President ever. That's because 90% of all news journalists voted for him.
Yes, Bill Clinton is much more well liked by the media. He's a more friendly guy. He can speak without looking like an idiot. You're right, the media likes Clinton. The thing that you don't understand is that G.W. Bush never ran against Clinton. He ran against Gore, and the media doesn't like Gore.

Quote:
George Bush is more popular than almost all other Democratically elected Presidents today. That is a fact no matter how you look at it.
Mike, what do you not understand about the 2-party system? Did you read the link that I sent? It showed that the majority of Bush's support came from Republicans. What do you think would happen to that support if Republicans were divided into 3 different parties?

Re: Bush Exploited, Shamed 9/11

and by the way mike, you'll most likely lamb bast for for this comment but i honestlly don't beleive the 2004 elections because of the fact that there was just too meny iregularities in it, such as the place in ohio where bush got more votes then there was even registered voters.

the current goverment is too way too much shady crap to be even respected. but anyways think what you want our talking isn't going to change your mind.

Re: Bush Exploited, Shamed 9/11

This is a useless argument...

Comparing Bush's approval to other countries is irrelevant. The only thing approval ratings show is his popularity relative to the last poll taken. For the most part, low approval ratings don't necessarily make a president "bad" any more than high approval ratings make a president "good". Of course, an extended period of falling approval like Bush has gone through should certainly make him reflect on what it is that he's doing to piss everyone off.

Tai--your comment on multiparty countries was valid, but then you lost points for bringing up voting conspiracy theory. Stick to facts and logic, not unsubstatiated conjecture. Just my opinion.

Sorry Tai, but you've said in another thread (a very long time ago) that the hard drives were erased, and asked to prove it and you could not then? What about now?
