Politics at its worst! Our children pay
The Foley scandal brings to light several things. Foley was wrong to have a chat room conversation with a 17 year old and stepped down.
I am not sure why this is news. I have read some of the chat room talk between Foley and his page and I have seen worst talk on TV. If Foley had sex with the 17 year old in Florida it would have been legal as the statutory rape law is well below 17. It would have been inappropriate, but legal. Because it happened over the internet it is a federal law and 18 is the legal age Foley is in trouble. Now, there is an investigation against another Republican about a camping trip 10 YEARS ago. Why did this not come out 9, 8, or 5 years ago? Why 1 month before the elections? This is getting silly. I wonder how news suddenly comes out in these two cases 3 and 10 years later. Could it be politics as the November election is 1 month away? If the allegations are true, shame on these two Republicans. My only problem is we are hurting our internships in the future. Will a young person interested in politics ever get a chance to work with congressmen again in the future? I think we are scaring every congressmen who wants to mentor a young man or woman. Now I am afraid to protect their future careers in politics, congressmen will avoid any and all contact with our young, eager teens interested in politics. Here is the new rule. If you are in politics and you want a future in politics stay away from anyone under 18, or it can come back to haunt you 10 years later regardless if you do anything wrong. All it takes is a claim 30 days before your election and you are finished. I think Kobe Briant and the Duke LaCrosse team have learned a lesson of what the media can do to your life regardless of th truth. We can thank Foley and Democrats for this. Democrats have shown how desperate they are to win and possibly a few Republicans have shown that they should have never been in a position to influence our nations young. Either way our children pay the price.

Re: Politics at its worst! Our children pay
This should prove to all in public service that there are no secrets on the internet. That pop up that says your government computer is subject to monitoring is true. I've seen a friend's computer locked up in the last week. He had to tell his IMO and was told he had, inadvertently or otherwise, gone to a site deemed inappropriate by the "monitors". In order to get back to work, he had to sign a statement that he had been counseled, and the Commander had to approve it. Second offense could cut off your computer for 6 months. Apparently he was at the DELL computer website. ??
I believe in many jobs these days, not having a computer could equate to not having a job. BE CAREFUL!!! |

Re: Politics at its worst! Our children pay
This just shows you how stupid Democrats are. Democrats have gotten the FBI to investigate Kolbe a month before the elections to make him look like a child predator. It's perfect, or at least those Democratic Illumanati insiders thought so. The only thing is... Kolbe's retiring at the end of the year and isn't even on the ballot for reelection.
![]() Really, the Democrats have been running the media, the courts, the schools, the Illumanati, the FBI, Hollywood, the Homosexual Agenda and the fascist ACLU, but they can't even figure out if some congressman is up for reelection. It's pitiful. And you're right, the sad part that this will just hurt the children. When will it be safe again for congressman to spend they're time on IM chats or weekend retreats "mentoring" high school kids. And who in Congress will mentor youth without being able to spend quality 1 on 1 time with the student. I mean, you can't properly "mentor" someone while being around staff or other adults. Nor can you really "mentor" a high school student while being restricted about certain conversation matter. I mean, could you "mentor" someone without being able to ask if you made them horny or having them measure their dick size? I know I couldn't. So I totally agree. In the end, it's the kids that really suffer from this whole affair. |

Re: Politics at its worst! Our children pay
Very good!
Your use of sarcasm is at it's peak. The perfect way to skip a debate because of a weak argument. Hat tip! Or how about the Reid scandal that the media fails to cover? Democrats are the best investors! He didn't report several $100,000 dollars while he was on the ETHICS committee. Then he uses campaign money to pay CHRISTMAS bonuses to his workers. All against the rules, but rules don't apply to Democrats because 90% of the media votes for Democrats. Why do all Democratic leaders sleep with women that are not their wives and are the best investors? Just curious on your thoughts. Is it because Democrats have a different view on ethics? http://news.yahoo.com/s/uc/20061018/...ll_iii20061018 The U.S. media is about as corrupt as the Kim Jong il regime and the Democrats are still looking for the definition of ethics in the dictionary. Clinton must have torn out that page.

I usually stay neutral in these tirades, but I seriously disagree with Doutdes on his definition of "mentor"!
At least if he was truthful in his last few sentences, I certainly wouldn't want him mentoring in my neighborhood! I would be asking if he had registered his latest address with the authorities. (LaFollette's_Advocate calls it satire! Gosh, I hope he is right!) Welcome, LaFo! Enjoy! |

Re: Politics at its worst! Our children pay
This takes the cake. Anyone want to bet this is under-reported outside of Virgina? It will never get the same coverage as the Foley case did in the media.

Re: Politics at its worst! Our children pay
I guess we see the major difference between me and you Bob. I wouldn't vote for a guy that writes literature for sale talking about a father having sex with his son orally and you see no problem with that.
![]() I guess we are seeing the two America's right here. The hypocritical Democrats who slam Foley and make it front news when a gay Republican chats about sex with a 17 year old, then see nothing wrong with a Democratic senator writing about a man having oral sex with his son. This is the hypocrisy of the Democratic party and why I am hopeful this November election. If you have a chat with a man old enough to join the military you are a pedophile, but if you write about having sex with your child son it is okay because it is "just fiction." Well, Foley never had sex and it was just fiction, so why is that front page news?
