They went over to help, presumably to also preach Christianity. The trip was not sanctioned by the Korean Government. They were warned not to go.
They got kidnapped for ransom. The Taliban wants a one-for-one exchange for prisoners taken by the Afghan Government. Kharzai says no, as that would encourage more kidnapping. No deal. Murdering two had no effect, except to inflame the world, even the majority of Muslims, who don't subscribe to murder for no reason, apparently. It looks like the Taliban is realizing that they are all dead men, whether or not they release the hostages. I'm pretty sure the Koreans want to offer them money, but are restrained by the fact that their allies don't want to encourage kidnapping by any deals. The Koreans are going to meet Taliban representatives on neutral ground in Pakistan I understand. We'll see. |

Well, the kidnaped folks are all out of danger, and on the way home. Looks like the Koreans negotiated with the kidnappers, against the wishes of the UN, US, Canada, England and others who understand that when you give them ransom money, or give in to their demands, it encourages others to kidnap at will, and win!
Thanks a lot, South Korea. I guess a country that sends food and medical aid to their only enemy to the North, strengthening the Million Man Army that is poised to attack them any day, has no problem paying off kidnappers, encouraging further kidnapping wherever Koreans may travel in the world! What's up with that! Makes a lot of sense to no one! Especially to us, who are spending a lot of bucks to sit here and protect them, "Ready to Fight Tonight" with the enemy they are feeding? Do you see a problem? |

Well, I think they shouldn't have been in Afghanistan in the first place, I mean, wasn't there a better place to go for converting people? You'd think so... Anyway, glad they came out safe.
