Cool Turkey 100 years ago?

The US Congress, in a moment of brainlessness, decided to condemn Turkey for possibly being guilty of genocide 100 years ago. An unnecessary thing to do, and poorly timed. It caused the Turks to withdraw their Ambassador from Washington, and caused them to begin reconsidering our use of airbases in Turkey.
I was more than pleased when the President of the United States put Congress in their place this morning, in a news conference which equals or exceeds any event I have seen by any other president since Kennedy told Russia they must take their missiles out of Cuba.
I hope you get to see a re-run this evening.

Ha Ha, Good one Dr Worm. I said it before and I'll say it again, as corrupt as the old republican leadership of Delay and company might have turned out to be, the current so-called 'leadership of pelosi and reid is the most unimpressive pair ever in the history of our country, IMHO.

While my bias urges me to say negative things about the Dems, honestly I think I'd enjoy a fresh start in the legislative branch all together. Maybe less...politicians in the next go-round.

Re: Turkey 100 years ago?

There are countless sources which show that no genocide was commited by the Turks against the Armenians. In fact, many Turks were killed by Armenians. The documentary, Sari Gelin (The Yellow Bride) shows it all. It is not biased, and has a lot of prominent Americans who show the faults in Armenia's arguement.

In 1915, the Ottoman Empire was falling apart, it wasn't concerned about killing Armenians. Not to mention that given the small size of the Armenian population back then, if a genocide had truly been commited, in the numbers the Armenians claim (which seem to go up every year), then today, it's doubtful that there would be as much Armenians as there are.

I don't want to write too much, but I just want to make sure that you don't believe these lies. Turkish historical archives and governmental archives are all open. Foreigners have come, looked, and found no evidence of genocied. Why are the Armenian archives closed to the public?

What about the countless Turkish statesmen and politicians that were killed by Armenians in the late 1900's?

A wise man once said, if a lie is told enough times, people will eventually believe it. Please, don't be fooled by the Armenian lies.
