Shouldn't we deal with Cuba?
I was reading some news and saw a Hillary Clinton speech and I agreed with one of her points regarding Cuba. She said we should deal with them diplomatically and I agree 100%. I can only guess the Anti-Castro, Cuban-American interest lobbyists are preventing Bush from dealing with Cuba.
I would say we should open trade and let capitalism take down Cuba. It is obvious our foreign policy over the last 40 years with Cuba has not worked. Any other thoughts? Mike

Re: Shouldn't we deal with Cuba?
Quote:
We certainly could reopen diplomatic and economic relations with Cuba, but I don't think that would make the dictatorship fall. It hasn't happened in Vietnam or China. Cuba can trade with us without grossly changing its economic or governmental model. I guess the question you would have to ask is: What does the US have to offer Cuba that the rest of the world can't supply? |
