I don't think he has a chance what do you all think?

WASHINGTON — A senior House Democrat said Sunday he will introduce legislation to reinstate the military draft, asserting that current troop levels are insufficient to sustain possible challenges against Iran, North Korea and Iraq.

Re: Rangel Calls for Reinstating Military Draft???

Re-instating the draft is not needed to increase the size of the forces, but it will be one of the smoke and mirror arguments put out to the public as a reason. In order to increase the size of the U.S. military, the government simply has to make it law, increase the authorizations. The thing is, they don't want to pay for it. Re-instating the draft will erode, over time, the entire military compensation package from monthly pay to retirement increases, you name it. A military of conscripts is a military with cheaper man-power. More money for weapons, less money for people, as we have been going through since the so-called end of the cold war. Need more bodies for less pay,, bring back the draft.
