Korean Unification
What are your opinions on Korean unification? I have been getting interesting responses at a weblog I set up www.koreanunification.net but very few Armed Forces Personnel have contributed. Please feel free to visit and join the debate.

Re: Korean Unification
I hope it happens soon. The Koreans people shouldn't be seperated. Also, the North is in a very bad state. They need to be rescued from the odd personality cult and poverty in which they are forced to live.

Sounds easy if you are not here, and may not understand that Korea has been divided for over 50 years, and older people separated in the war, have remarried and have (two) divided families, some in both countries! Some children devout Christians in the South, with brothers in the North who have been schooled in Communism for 50 years, and sincerely believe that America is the Devil Personified, who started the Korean War and is occupying their puppet South Korea now! When these diametrically opposed governments can live together in harmony will be a cold day in hell!
Someday, if Kim Jong Il is removed from power, and the older families in power get replaced by younger, worldly educated progressive thinkers, true unification may become possible. |
