Cool Homosexual Congresspersons ?

A Republican Senator from Iowa tapped his foot once too often in an airport facility, and got arrested for lewd conduct. He said later that he is a happily married man, and has never been queer, but that he pled guilty to get the accusation over with quickly. The media drug out some previous unproven accusations, and he was given such a hard time he says he will not run again.
Two Democrats were caught previously in admitted illegal sexual liasons in restrooms, one with an under age Page. They are still serving in Congress, and have even been re-elected! I saw today that Senator Tom Delay, soon to be a convicted felon himself, confronted TV Host Matt Laur with an accusation of unfairness to Republicans by making a big issue of the Republican Senator's alleged conduct, yet not raising as big a fuss when Democrats previously got caught AND convicted!

All that is very true. So the conclusion we must draw from this is what?
- It is O.K. to be a Homo in Congress, but if you are, then you must admit it AND support Gay Rights, including Gay Marriage. (That is what the fuss is all about- the Iowa Republican voted against Gay Marriage.) What a great country! Freedom and Justice for all! Almost.
And we the "Sheeple" (Thanks, Mike) send these perverts to represent us in Washington again and again! Are we smarter than a fifth grader? Discuss.

Cool Re: Homosexual Congresspersons ?

Jeff Foxworthy would make me look into the camera and say, "I am Not smarter than a 5th grader". At least it starts with "I"! Small potatoes.
I am still expecting someone to say this type of behavior is just expected of Democrats, and only makes headlines if a Republican gets accused...

Re: Homosexual Congresspersons ?

I don't think there is any doubt that most people that work for shows such as the Today show want the Dems to have full control. Of course they are going to put as little attention as possible on democratic leaders.
I mean, it's not like you get an opinion free of bias on fox news, but by watching both you might get 1/2 of the relevant stories.

The issue at hand, with the congressman from Idaho, HAPPENED IN JUNE. It's really surprising this story wasn't out sooner.

I don't think he was completely innocent, but I also think there was some hardcore entrapment here, and that is totally uncool. So what if he is gay, voting against gay rights. Maybe he votes that way because his constituents want him to. People seem to forget about their voter base in the first place. Heaven forbid he put his voters over his own beliefs.

The media angers me.

Re: Homosexual Congresspersons ?

I have no idea what the statistics are for this sort of thing when it comes to democrat versus republican members of the house. We all know that when a skeleton is found and there is a need to destroy someone in the name of political power it is common place in DC. I don't really give a crap if someone in DC is gay or lesbian, that is the world we live in and to not accept it is to be in denial. I do call into question a person who exhibits such behaviors that walk the line more of perversion than sexual preference. Gay?, be gay but do it honstly. perverted and into bathroom encounters? your judgement and character are suspect and I don't want you in my government.
