Interesting. I doubt that our Senators, as stupid as they sometimes appear to be, will let the power of the US be usurped by an international committee as is mentioned. When it comes to power, they all wake up and vote to keep it! Even veto override power.

More problems are possible from the idiots that think we should worry about events that occurred in Turkey 100 years ago, that may have been genocide.
We don't go re-living the more recent war with Japan, because the people who attacked Pearl Harbor are dead, and the present Japanese Government would be upset to drag out old partially healed wounds.
Why condemn possible genocide by Turkey many years before? Probably a Democratic move to discredit the present Republicans in office. Talk about not needing enemies if we have traitors among us!
We have angered the Turks sufficiently for them to recall their ambassador to Washington! We are getting dangerously close to similar moves from China. We voice our objection about Chinese warning Taiwan about threatening independence, yet we withdrew our ambassador to Taiwan long ago. We act like we support Tibet in their quest for independence from China. But we stood idly by when the Dalai Lama was sent away in exile.
We may have to decide very soon if we will assist former Soviet puppet states in case the Russian Bear decides to annex them. Putin won't allow us to install missiles for the defense of Poland. He is smart enough to know who we are helping Poland to be defended from! We may have to decide if we want to remain the big kid on the block, or not. Any day now.
In our present weakend state, we appear as a paper tiger. If China or Russia , or an alliance of the two should threaten us, we had better be ready.
Canada has signed a contract to supply China oil for years to come. We need to worry about a lot of things, but genocide 100 years ago in Turkey is not one of them, nor is it prime time to condemn human rights violations in someone else's back yard. Lets get our priorities straight. Now.
