Differences between Dems and Republicans

Something to think about...

Subject: Father/Daughter Talk:

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his. One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"

She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea, and how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican party."

If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between Republican and Democrat I'm all ears.

Mr. Joe: I took out all the annoying ">>>>" to make this easier to read.

Re: Differences between Dems and Republicans

Ha Ha Ha! That's great! However, I think that illustrates how narrow the gap really is...esp. in Washington politics. I mean, there's photos of the Bushs and Clintons hanging out together. I mean, don't hate your enemy, but that's too chummy, I think. I do believe in the Bildebergers and I would vote for Ron Paul or Alan Watts (sp?), if both are available on some ticket when it's Republicans vs Democrats. I think the 2 parties conflict is just a spectacle to distract us from what's going on whether you're a Bushbot or think the Republicans rigged the last elections. If conservative is not religious conservative and not tied with a party , I'm not sure if that is any different than liberal. Liberals and the Democratic Party do outrightly tend to support abortion and euthenasia and such...it's expansion in a different way than international imperialism in that it's scientific. I would have to vote for the most real conservative as I cannot prove to myself which Republican is pro-life on the most things. Yeah, Republicans declare war, but at least more people in war can prepare their souls and other affairs for possible death. Senile ol' gramps (if he didn't do it before confusion) and the baby in the womb really can't do that, can they? Our souls have become cold under socially liberal times and we know what the Weinmar Republic did in those times. We want. We want. We want. When times get tough for the world, it will be interesting who gets elected. We need to realize Republican and conservative are not always the slogans of God-fearing patriots and Democrat and liberal is not the slogans of those who really care for the weak.

Re: Differences between Dems and Republicans

I meant...not always, regarding Dems and libs (there are those of both ideologies who are what they proclaim about themselves).

I could relate to this issue. It reminded me what sociallized redistribution of wealth is all about.1. I hate to be associate with any orgs which exercise sociallized systems such as insurance, healthcare and pension. 2. I do not like people who want to steal my hard works which is really annoying things. They do not have balls to keep it real.

There was a fellow director or manager who asked me for sharing my own sales profits with her about 200K. Becasue, She has lost so many customers in her own? Is this justify her stealing movements? It wasn't my problem and I do not want to know. WT$ ? Can you belive this? She asked me to share my $ and customers. You can lead a ho$ to the water, but you can't make her drank. You know what I mean. She has to find her own way to survive not relying on others. Anyway,She was Kim-jung il and I was totally pisssed off about how dare she asked me such stoopid questions. I would share anything If I want when I'm feel like it. I had to respond this thread which was very similar to my own experience. I used to have 2 pit bulls, they didn't even steal eachother's meal for god's sake. They are REPUBLICAN !
