Conspiracy Theory II

You can check out some video here:
mms://media.cast.or.kr/kndic/movie/06_0504_pt4.wmv

Just change the "pt4" to 1 to 5 to see all 5 videos.
I haven't seen them all yet.

I stopped for a question:

Why were the regular military units not accompanited by a police escort?

Why were the regular military units used to detain protesters -- instead of riot police or national police or local police?

---------------this is not making any sense ----------------- unless ------------

Pulling punches ----- which is what the government was doing before --- should be a sign the government didn't want to look bad - especially to its "progressive" base.

From these videos -----

it seems clear Roh and crew --- decided not to look bad ---

--- by making the military look bad.

Maybe not so directly ---- but ----

---- there is little chance nobody recognized the environment the decision that were made were made in:

Sending military units was going to bring up images of the dictatorships - in everybody's mind. In a minority, it would be viewed as "another Kwangju 1980" or other such non-sense, but even in the average Korean was going to draw parallels --- and only the conservative minority would not have a bad taste in their mouth about such a parallel.

So, OK --- Roh and crew tried to distance themselves from being linked to the military dispatch by not talking about it. Fine.

But, why send them in the first place?

Why not contractors?

Why not surrounded by gobs and gobs of riot police?

And ABOVE ALL ------

why no police escort and police to put people in flexicuffs and make arrests?

Why make the soldiers, in military uniform, do it.....

......with the whole world of Korean reporters and photographers and network news cameras to film it????????/

--------------something is starting to stink badly......
