I'm between semesters and have about a month to kill. About every 6 months or so, I try to do some editing of the site or work on news issues as they pop up. I'm working on a project on the environmental angle since it is going to be hot with the base handovers for the rest of this year and well into the next (and will remain an issue forever - just as it has since 2000). But, here is one page I just edited again. At the suggestion of an emailer, I'm trying to tighten up the language and make it slightly more "professional" - like taking out words like "bullshit" --- except where I think they fit too well to remove. I am not a web design expert by any stretch of the imagination. Anything I know has come from trial and error since I started working on pages back in 2002 when I began the site. http://www.usinkorea.org/issues/users/ |

Re: Update of www.usinkorea.org site
Well done. I have admittedly flip flopped on my personal stance about our presence in Korea. I am currently of the mind that the best thing we could do for the ROK is to pull out. My reasons are not democratic ones but militaristic ones. I believe if we pull out, the real power in the ROK will mount a coup and put the country back under military rule. Ideology aside, perhaps this will bring back a dose of reality they face to the north.
