Uploaded by C. Y. Lee on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 U.S. to offer Seoul satellite intel on North Korea Stars and Stripes Pacific edition, Wednesday, January 25, 2006 SEOUL - An American intelligence agency will provide South Korea with updated satellite data about North Korea to improve the southern country's air strike capability, according to a spokesman from the South Korean Army. The U.S. National Geospatial Intelligence Agency will provide the digital maps and video images, which will help South Korean cruise missiles fly close to the ground to avoid radar detection. It isn't clear when the satellite data will be exchanged. Similar information held by South Korea has not been updated since 1993. (END) |
