North Korea Test first short range missile

Fox news is reporting that North Korea fired a short range missile. This was reported by the Japanese. It is unknown what missile was fired, but they are saying it was not the long range missile.

It looks like they did try to fire the long-reang Taepo Dong, but it failed like a dud.

Here is the report from Reuters.

North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile and two small Scud-type missiles within a two-hour period, but the long-range missile appears to have failed, a diplomatic source told Reuters on Tuesday.

CNN also reported that a Taepodong had been fired.
The Taepodong 2 missile, which had been under intense scrutiny by the United States and other western powers, appeared to have failed in flight, the diplomatic source said.

A Pentagon official told Reuters North Korea appeared also to have launched at least two small Scud-type missiles, but not the intercontinental ballistic missile that has been a focus of international concern.
"This appears not to be the launch of the missile that's been so widely reported of late," said the official, who asked not to named. He referred to the small missiles as "lesser variety" Scud types.

Good Day For Us

U.S. Shuttle launch good, DPRK missle launch bad. The greatest technological nation in the world versus the most backward and technologically challenged nation. Maybe now the little man in the north will lose some face and stop being a signifying little monkey. You know, the monkey in the tree who keeps talking shit to the lion on the ground? Until one day he falls out of the tree. Too bad the little man wouldn't commit sepicu in the face of his failed attempt to use big stick diplomacy, talking of nuclear war and such. Maybe one of his generals will grow some balls in light of this big internationally watched failure and realize they need to get rid of his ass and open the border. Well, we can hope, can't we?
