Can someone please show me the progress the Seoul government has made? Last I looked there is a lot of talking and absolutely no action. This has been true for decades. The ROK government needs to act more like Winston Churchill and less like Neville Chamberlain.
Mike; I tend to differ with you on the decades comment. It really started with the Sunshine policy of the previous administration. Placing sanctions rarely works. The people who suffer are the common people. I have not heard anything on the care packages the churches from around the world are sending there. I have always suspected they are using everything for their military and starving the people who are the intended recipients. I stated my opinons on this attitude in previous postings. This will never change a snowball in hell stands a better chance at surving then nK changing their ways. Quote:

The Sunshine has done nothing but send resources from the South to the North. The North Korean people suffer no less due to the Sunshine Policy. Let's call it what it is, an appeasement policy. It is a pay off of the North Korean regime.
The only real progress is that the North do not attack the South as much as the 60s through the 80s. Statistics show that there has been an increase of people fleeing the North since the Sunshine Policy. None of the resources sent North are tracked and the food does not go to the people that need it. It is given to the military and sold at the market. I would be interested to hear what progress you have seen. Mike

It appears you may have misconstrued the response. Your response has left me with the perception that you believe I am in support of the Sunshine policy? BTW: Kim Dae Jung was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his Sunshine Policy in 2002. I believe the Yushin policy was the best policy that place Korea on their road to success. |

Honestly, the Nobel Peace Prize hasn't meant much to me since it was awarded to Yassar Arafat. Today, words mean more than actions when it comes to winning that award.
