North Korean Coat of Arms
![]() It is an interesting coat of arms. Here is what Wikipedia states: The coat of arms of the DPRK. The national emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea bears the design of a grand hydroelectric power plant under Mount Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, and bearing the beaming light of a five-pointed red star, with ears of rice forming an oval frame, bound with a red ribbon bearing the inscription "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea." Anyone ever wonder why North Korea calls themselves Democratic? ![]()

Kim Jong Il must really be proud of that power plant to stick in on a national emblem. It's Democratic because it's a government by the people...rule of the majority...a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections!!! ![]() Last edited by eddiev9 : 02-22-2006 at 04:32 PM. |
