Korea slams Japan for crackdown on pro-Pyongyang residents 2006/03/28 20:30 SEOUL, March 28 (Yonhap) -- North Korea on Tuesday denounced Japan for its recent raid on the Osaka chapter offices of Chongryon, a group of pro-Pyongyang residents in Japan, warning the country that it would take strong countermeasures. "We will not sit idly by amid the horrendous crackdowns carried out by Japan on the pro-North Korean residents' league in Japan and on other North Korean people living in Japan," the North's foreign ministry said in a statement.
