[USFK Forums] Ex-negotiator advises ambiguity, closed talks with North Korea [Yonhap]
Uploaded by C. Y. Lee on Thursday, March 30, 2006 Ex-negotiator advises ambiguity, closed talks with North Koreans 2006/03/30 04:18 By Lee Dong-min WASHINGTON, March 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's former lead negotiator on Wednesday advised ambiguity, flexibility and unofficial contacts in negotiating with North Korea, which he said is "not mad, although it is bad." Kim Hyung-ki served as vice unification minister from 2001-2003 and participated deeply in a series of inter-Korean talks from the early 1990s. "The question, 'Can we change North Korea's negotiating behavior?' can be answered as, 'It is possible,'" he said in a lecture at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington.
