Finding car parts and information can be quite the task. A place for car enthusiasts to talk and tell about garages, deals, parts.

That's a good idea. I sold my eclipse and we left the GTI back in the states. Had we brought them over we'd probably still order off the net though if at all possible. I'm sure there are some members that are very knowledgeable about where to go for parts here.

Yea I saw your signature pics and was thinking you two must be retty awesome because they are both awesome. I really like the GTI. I just bought a 2000 Civic EX as my next toy.

Yea, I saw alot of Tiburons while I was there. Kia Hyundai and Daewoo. The lack of Hondas and Mitsus is probably due to the long-lasting Korean-Japanese hatred of each other. They are weird like that.

There is an EXCELLENT VW/ Audi shop in Misari (a little south of Seoul) about 1/2 mile behind the powerboat racing arena. The shop is called VAG, and they are dealers for everything you can think of. I hung out with Pocket Rocket while I was there, they are the local VW/ Audi club in the Seoul area and several of them speak English.

As for Japanese stuff, well you won't find much because of how the Koreans feel about the Japs. I went to a few races where Skylines or Silivias, but they were all imported at GREAT expense, and there are maybe 5 shops in Korea who give enough of a crap about them to tune them.

Oh there is also a pretty high end shop right across from COEX mall, but unless you are driving something like a Bentley, Maesarati, or Lambo, this is pretty much just a place to go gawk at hot cars. I do know though that one of their employees drives a tricked out R32, and I have pics of it someplace.

Hey guys - this is the 21st century. The Japanese hatred thing about which you both make reference is pretty much gone amongst the younger generations in Korea. You can find people in the older generations who still hate the Japanese, but most of the younger generation are all gaga about Japanese culture. And they'd give their left you-know-what to own a Japanese made car - because that would be a big status symbol. The reason they don't own them is because the import tariffs placed on them practically double the price of a car that's already pretty expensive to begin with.

The only Japanese cars you really see in Korea (in any number) are Toyotas - especially Lexus models.

I know at least 20 Korean people my age or younger (I am 34) that REFUSE to own a Japanese car.
