Overall

Young Chon Night Club is probably the best place in Songtan for straight-up dancing. The dance floor is large and lively and the tunes are always danceable. If you stay near the floor, you can generally avoid the juicys. As a juicy club, Young Chon probably rates average to just-below-average for Songtan. For the serious dance fan, Young Chon is a must-stop...for everyone else, Young Chon is pretty predictable. Go once, and if you don't like it, you won't need to go back.

Atmosphere

Located just down the alley from Baskin-Robbins, Young Chon Night Club aims to be the premiere night club in the Songtan area. Walk down the steps to the basement of the Young Chon Hotel, and you'll enter the (spacious by Songtan standards) night club. The dance floor is surrounded by plush seating on all sides, and the stage at the head of the dance floor comes with standard-issue juicy pole and 60's era effects. The bar is medium size and offers a wide selection of beer and drinks. Bathrooms are heavily trafficked and show the wear and tear. Overall atmosphere is dark and smokey as you'd expect from a night club.

Food/Drink

I haven't seen any food being served and the beer of choice is OB. Liqour and other bottled beers are available for standard prices, and ammo bowls are always a popular and effective alternative.

Music

A DJ spins popular dance tunes, and the crowd expects nothing less. Unfortunately, this means that the turntable is on a constant rotation of three hip-hop tunes, one old-school tune, one salsa tune, then rinse and repeat. You're guaranteed to hear at least one song twice if you stay longer than an hour.

Service

Young Chon Night Club runs the typical ajumma-juicy scenario. Upon being seated, the ajummas will push you for a juicy. They aren't too pushy, but this is definitely a juicy scene, especially as you move away from the dance floor. Young Chon loses points since this is the only club I've had the privilege of being kicked out of twice. Once was for a buddy of mine bringing in a bottle of water, and once was for a female friend trying to get on stage with the juicys. If getting kicked out wasn't bad enough, we had to deal with the rather surly ajoshi who immediately called town patrol and then ranted on and on cursing and swearing about how Americans don't respect his club. Dude, you don't mind spending the many American dollars flowing into your club, so get over it.

Extracurriculars

The bar does have pool tables, but the prime draw is the large dance floor. Most weekend nights the floor will be filled with young dancers crammed together bouncing to popular dance music.

Check out Young Chon's USFK Classifieds ad for more information on the club.

Banging club if you like hip-hop, r&B....Great place to dance. The juice girls aint all that, and they are usually very busy on the weekends. The times that I have been it was very crowded, (Friday, Saturday).

If you have a date, and can get there before the crowd does you can get a nice table and have a good time.

Re: Young Chon Night Club

When are there going to be any NEW reviews by the so-called reviewers of the clubs in songtan???? They're all over a year old and some of the clubs don't even exist anymore.

I'll be going back to Osan, 109 days & counting til I leave the States. I wouldn't mind doing a little research. The only problem I foresee is that, since I've been there twice before, I might be somewhat biased.
