Overall



The Blue Jazz is the best place in Songtan to enjoy the greatest Jazz and Blues music of all time - hence the name. This is also a good place to get away from loud rock and hip-hop music, over-crowded dance floors, rowdy youngsters, and pushy Agimas and Juicies.

Atmosphere



Just when I thought that I wouldn't find a classy bar in Songtan, I walked into the Blue Jazz. The finished wooden walls, ceiling, and furniture give this bar a very clean and elegant look. The Blue Jazz features memorabilia and pictures of the greatest Jazz bands and artists of all time, and their soothing music fills this bar every single night.

Music



The Blue Jazz plays the best Jazz, period. Not only will you enjoy music from Jazz legends such as Miles Davis, John Coletrane, Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington, you will also moan the Blues with Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, and B.B. King. Patrons can request their favorite tunes. The volume of the music is perfect - you don't have to strain your ears to hear it or yell to be heard over it.

Service



Hayong-Ja does her best to keep the music playing and the beer flowing. Unfortunately, she is a limited one-man band playing waitress, bartender, and DJ.

Alcohol/Food



The Blue Jazz offers OB on tap and a good selection of beer and hard liquor. It also offers a larger selection of wine than your average Songtan bar. Food is not served at this bar - I may have to make a different category for all of those other restaurant/bars.

Extras



You won't find a dartboard or pool table at this bar. But if your only interest is to enjoy a drink with friends while listening to good music, you won't need that stuff anyway. One extra that you will find are great window seats overlooking the Shinjang Shopping and Entertainment District.

It's a nice joint but it's not anything like BB Kings on Beale Street in Memphis haha. However, it's a great place to get away from the riff raff of Juicie's, Juicy Slayers(those who blow their money on the girls), and younger crowd acting a fool.
