Songtan is the city just outside
Osan Air Base in
South Korea and
resides in Gyeonggido province. Songtan merged with the nearby larger
city of Pyongtaek and became a metropolis of 310,000 people covering an
area of 87,168 acres. Songtan has a population of over 100,000 and is
the favored businesses district for residents of
Osan Air Base and
Koreans residing in the area.
Shinjang Shopping Mall is the main shopping area just outside the
Osan
Air Base main gate. Visitors will find excellent tailor shops,
restaurants, bars and other businesses. Americans will find many items
much cheaper than in the United States.

Songtan Subway and Bus
 Songtan
has subway station and bus stations. The Songtan subway station is connected
to line #1 and goes directly to Seoul and is one transfer to Inchon. When
coming back from Seoul it is important to take the Cheonan train as there is
no “Sontan” train. For information on all Korean subway lines click on the
