area 1 sponsorship

my husband is an e-6 in the infantry and has already served 2 years in Korea. He is considering going back but wants to know if it is at all possible to get command sponsored for area 1 or if there are any infantry jobs in any of the other areas and if sponsorship for us is likely. Thanks
Kelly

Re: area 1 sponsorship

This is late but as an Infantry NCO ain't gonna happen not to worry you still can go you will be sponsered but not Command sponsered. You will not be denied ....you and your husband has to figure out if you want to live the Hooch life or the apartment life. Area 1 is restrictive unless you are Korean also you don't lose your housing benifits. Your call.

Bones

Re: area 1 sponsorship

Getting a command sponsorship in the Area I really depends on the timing. If there is a slot available, your S1 will help you with designating your position as a command sponsored billet. However, if there is no slot available, it is almost impossible to get one these days. I've applied three times and they returned my requests without action (I do not qualify for any criteria they listed for Temporary command sponsorship. If you want to bring your family, try to get an assignment below Area II then everything becomes much easier. But there is no pinpoint assignment for any soldier below E-9 or Maj and above.
