Baby Stores

Are there any baby stores off base? Do any of the locals make baby bedding?

I just found out that I'm expecting and if we have a girl then I will need to buy a new crib set.

Thanks!

Re: Baby Stores

A good place to look might be E-Mart. It reminds me of a cross between Walmart and Target with a huge grocery store. Also, my husband and I went to NuCore and I believe they have a whole floor for babies. We don't have kids so we past on by, but it's always worth looking...heck, it's shopping!

Re: Baby Stores

I know that outside the Osan main gate there are a couple baby stores really close together, and I have seen several of the bedding stores carry baby bedding. Congradulations

Re: Baby Stores

I haven't bought anything here for our baby...I checked out emart once, but everything was really expensive...a hat was like 20 dollars!

I've bought most of our stuff online actually...old navy or kohl's. Big stuff like car seats/strollers I've ordered online from Goore's.

Hope this helps!

I know the BX/PX's don't have the best selection...esp. for boy stuff!

Re: Baby Stores

I'm almost 100% positive that walmart will also ship big objects. My neighbor bought a bike from walmart online. Also, I think you can purchase from AAFES and have it delivered to the store for pickup. Not 100% sure on that one though. Emart is expensive but they do put stuff on clearance:)

Re: Baby Stores

There was something that was on Korean TV talking about the prices of baby and childrens clothing here in Korea. It seems that the Koreans will charge about 3 times the amount that we would pay for such items. I think one of the things they showed was a piece of clothing that in the states would cost something around $25 and over here can be bought for close to 75,000 won.

We bought all our baby stuff from either on base or Babies R US. Shipping was okay, the only problem we ran into was the size limit that you can ship to APO boxes. We thought it was babies r us that wouldn't ship it but when we tried that "ship it apo" website they said that the box was to big as well.

If you find something on the aafes online you can order it and have them ship it to the BX but it takes up to 8 weeks or longer (i think that's what I was quoted). Depending on who you ask in the customer service section in the BX they will tell you can or cannot do this. If someone says they don't do this just keep asking someone until you find someone that understands what your asking for. But if the item is small enough for you to order it on your own and have it shipped to you APO box they'll make you do that.
