Introducing Myself
Greetings! I came across this forum in my random searchings for information about housing off-base around Camp Casey/Hovey, and am really excited to find SO much information put out here by people that have actually gone through this whole experience before!
I am a new army wife - my husband re-enlisted in March after being out for over 13 years, and I was not his wife way back when. After WTC and AIT, he found out he was going to Cp Casey, and while he wasn't very excited about it, I'm thrilled about the opportunities that await! However, I am a graduate student with about 4 months left until I finish up, which I think in the long run will be beneficial. I am hoping it will give my husband a chance to decide if he thinks it is worth me moving out there for the remaining time he has out there, or if he should extend his tour there after his year (in which case I will definitely be going out there!). Basically my purpose for joining here is to gain some insight into what life will/could be like for me and for my husband while he is in South Korea. And, hopefully to meet people that I can hook up with or get help from when I go out to either visit or live! I'm excited to learn all I can to prepare myself for this adventurous turn my life has taken, and am so glad that from what I've read on this site so far everybody seems so helpful and kind! Thank you! Melissa |

finish that degree first, then come on over if you feel the urge! If you teach , you can apply for a job ahead of time and maybe teach at a University. Two kinds-Korean, or with U. of Maryland, Troy State, U. of Oklahoma, U. of Phoenix, or Central Texas College! An ESL course is a nice to have. Just food for thought. The DODD School system also needs teachers at the larger Posts where there are Elementary and High Schools. Too many opportunities all at once! Camp Casy may not be large, but many families do live outside the gates. It is what you make it. Seoul is minutes away. take your time reading our forums and we will prepare you for anything! Welcome.
