Passport photo for infant- lessons learned
I just got passport photos done for myself, our 2 1/2 year old and our 2 month old and I learned a couple of things to share with anyone who needs to do the same:
1. Go to a full service place, the extra cost is worth it. I went to a Kinko's and paid 12.95 for each set instead of 7.99 at the photo dept at the drugstore. It took four employees and two cameras to get the infant photo and we never would have gotten it at the drugstore. They were cheerful about it, too. 2. Take a white sheet, blanket or towel so you can lay the baby down on the floor for the picture. The background has to be white. Luckily I had a burp cloth and we spread it out behind the baby's head while I was holding him (hence the four employees). 3. Make sure they have a regular (not mounted) camera so shooting on the floor will work. Requirements for the photo are very strict and they need to be able to properly size the head in the photo. 4. If you have a toddler, something for bribes is essential. It took about 30 shots to get a good photo on the 2 1/2 year old, because the head has to be straight up and down, the eyes have to be straight ahead, etc. I hope this can help someone! Anna |

Re: Passport photo for infant- lessons learned
Good info. I just went and got mine and my 15 months olds son's passport. It was pretty rough. The man at the post office got him to smile as he was screaming and not staying still.I guess it could have been worse.

Re: Passport photo for infant- lessons learned
I had no trouble when I got my passports done in the states. My 1 year old and 2 year old LOVE getting their pictures taken and were perfect subjects. NOw, getting my newborn son's done here for his passport was interesting.
