Re: Traveling with a Toddler

My plane flight here was a total nightmare. Austin hardly slept and I went through each and every toy I brought and played baby einstein over and over on my portable dvd player. I was thankful that I had packed a huge bag of toys and books. He wasn't interested in the cartoons on the personal screen they had. I got to watch one movie while he slept. But don't count on having a personal dvd. My hubby said they had two movies on his flight, one english and one Korean. I got to choose mine which was nice. I flew from Seattle and he flew from Hawaii. Korean Air is great. It was direct and the flight attendents are super sweet and helpful. I found that most all of them spoke very good english.

My son is 19 months and when I asked Korean air about the kid meals it was chicken nuggets or a hamburger so I opted to just give him adult meals. They had noddles and beef (lunch) and rice and chicken (dinner), which he ate ok. I also packed plenty of snacks and food for him, which he also ate. They didn't give me any problems about bring milk aboard and I just gave him sips of juice or water when they served it.

Re: Traveling with a Toddler

We flew Korean Air as well and the kids picked (at least two days before hand) from pizza, hamburger, spaghetti, chicken fingers, or something else. Their meals came with fruit and candy (which I confiscated - kids with candy on a 17 hour plane ride, not my idea of fun!) and juice and milk and water and chips and pretzels and nuts... The flight attendants kept coming by and sneaking the kids more snacks!!! I had brought a ton myself and they didn't hardly eat any of them.

Mine are 5, 2, and 1 by the way (they were 5, 2, and 10 months when we flew over here).

DVD player is a must, but I wouldn't have brought as many movies. I had a whole bag filled up with movies and that was a pain. When we fly home for mid-tour in a week and a half, I'm bringing one of those CD carrying cases with movies instead of all the individual cases.

Hope that helps!

Kara
