Cool Re: Living Off Base

Sunburst-
Don't worry, you will be able to find a suitable place near the base. And you can easily do without a car.
I'd like to send you a sponsor package, but I'm in Seoul. I'm sure one of the Osan folks can fix your sponsor problem if you know your gaining organization. When someone volunteers, you can send them a Private Message here, or email with particulars, so you don't need to broadcast everything here. I know you are scared with a small child, but don't be. It will work out fine! Our forum ladies are your friends already!

Thanks for the words of encouragment Mr Joe. I do have someone trying to help me with the sponsor thing. Everything seems to be getting delayed cause my h is deployed and its hard to get info. Pretty much all the info we've found out has been from me. lol. Which is odd.but whatever works. Thanks

Re: Living Off Base

Your husband's name still isn't on the list of incoming airmen! But, my husband has been talking to your's through email. My husband isn't sure why his name isn't on the list because there are others arriving during the same month and they are on the list. But I'm sure it will all get straightened out. Maybe they are changing their minds on sending him! haha You have quite a while before you get here, so don't worry! Oh, and I was going to tell you-- they really emphasize that Osan is NOT a training base, so most likely he will be in whatever shop he has the most experience, or whatever shop is needing more people and he has experience in. My husband had most recent experience in inspection, but since PGM was needing a TSGT to be assistant shop chief, that is where he went.

Re: Living Off Base

Mr. Joe,

Would it be possible for you to post the "Housing" section of the welcome package?

If you could, it might help answer most of the housing questions people seem to have.

Or is housing considered an OPSEC issue?

Cheers,
Jeff
