New Training Requirement for All AF Spouses, NCS or CS...
As of Thursday, all spouses (CS or NCS) here at Osan, are being required to complete Level I Anti-terrorism awareness classes. This class is now required as a part of *any* overseas PCS, and was supposed to be included as a part of your AD Member spouse's outprocessing requirments.
Unfortunately, many (most) MPF's haven't been aware of the requirement, and we NCS spouses wouldn't get notification of the requirement since we don't go through the same outprocessing as CS folks anyway...so now, there's apparently a big push to play catch up. The class is easily completed, computer based, and can be done at home. I completed mine Thursday afternoon, it took me about 30 minutes, and was really informative in many ways. For those of us who watch AFN on a regular basis, you'll find you already recognize some of the material well! LOL :) Once you've finished your class, you'll get a certificate.. just print that off and make sure it gets to your unit training manager, who should be able to get it routed up to the right people. I won't put the URL up here, for obvious OPSEC reasons, but please, have your AD member contact your unit training manager or AT rep asap to get that url. I'd especially like to encourage all NCS spouses currently here at Osan and coming soon to take this training... the more we show cooperation and participation in base sponsored activities such as training, orientations, NEO's, volunteering etc., the more we not only increase awareness of NCS presence here, but also show the Osan community as a whole that NCS spouses are productive members of the community. The better we make NCS spouses look, the easier it will be for the spouses that come after us. Thanks in advance! Dee :) |
