Does the 121 send you home with anything after giving birth?
A lot of friends have told me that civilian hospitals will give you a few items that you will need for your baby when you leave the hospital. Some people said that they got free diaper bags and some even said they got a free breast pump. Does the 121 send you home with anything?

Re: Does the 121 send you home with anything after giving birth?
I got a free Similiac diaper bag and several formula samples and an outdated video on how to breastfeed. I don't know if they give out free breast pumps or not. I needed to use one and was told that while they normally had ones people could use they had no supplies for it in stock.

Yongsan Quilters donates baby quilts for the Stork's nest, so you should get one too.

Re: Does the 121 send you home with anything after giving birth?
If you go to the baby class (I can't think of the name right now) they will provide you with a free layette. I attended the one here on Osan and it came with all sorts of things. Blankets, burp clothes, onesies, and sleepers. I didn't really need the class but it was worth it for the free stuff. They should have it on alll the bases. Just ask the family support center (or whatever they call themselves these days).
I have never heard of them giving away breast pumps but a lot of hossys have pumps you can rent. Personally I have the Medela Pump in Style and it is the best breast pump. You can buy it online at aafes.com. I have the original one. |

I wonder if they would let someone who's Army attend the class? I've signed up for a birthing class that ACS offers at Yongsan. We go to that next month.

I think the free pump was a single manual one. I am looking at getting the Medela Pump in Style or the Ameda Purely Yours. Right now I'm leaning toward the Purely Yours because I like the idea of the closed system. Did you look at the Medela PIS Advanced when you were buying your pump? I'm wondering if it's worth the extra cost over the original PIS. |

I was going to add that in my original post as a joke but took it out before I posted. I'm glad I didn't because your post made me laugh.
