Volunteers Needed.. It's Cookie Crunch Time!
The OSC chairperson for the Cookie Crunch is currently looking for volunteers to help bake cookies for the Cookie Crunch..I believe they're looking for a commitment of 2 hours a week, but I don't think you have to commit to more than one week :) I'm sure any time you can offer would be appreciated!
If you're interested, please pm me, and I'll get you in touch with the appropriate person. Also, the AFRC is looking for volunteers to help with the ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse) Program. For more info, check with the AFRC. This opportunity is very extensive and seems to me would be very time consuming. Remember, the more we contribute to our community, the more we get out of it..and NCS spouses,especially.. let's really get out there and show the best of the NCS world! :) There are also *many* volunteer opportunities available right now with the AWANA program through the chapel on base. Awana meets on Wednesday nights at Osan American Elementary School. Volunteers need to have a background check, so please contact the chapel for more info. Annnnd, this one is a personal appeal.. some of you may know, for the past year, Richard and I have been leaders of the Awana JV program, meeting on Thursday night. The group is small , but very enthusiastic, mainly boys, though we're hoping that after the foundation built last year, we can expand this year to include more girls. With our upcoming departure...we are in desperate need of replacement help. We have one male leader in place already, however, ideally, we need a female leader as well..and we can always use more than one helper. If you'd be interested in this , please contact me ASAP,so we can start getting some things lined up. This group has been such a joy for us,we've really come to love these kids a great deal, and leaving them behind is one of the hardest things about our PCSsing out.. the thought of leaving them without the most capable leaders, and assistants in place is heartbreaking. If anyone is interested, please let us know.. Thanks! Dee :) Last edited by rndspringer : 09-24-2007 at 09:03 PM. |

Re: Volunteers Needed.. It's Cookie Crunch Time!
AWANA!! Hopefully by the first week in Oct we'll have a car, and be able to take the kiddo. What are the times? Also, is there something for the hubby and I to do while she's there? Or do we just have to go shop??

Re: Volunteers Needed.. It's Cookie Crunch Time!
Why, Michelle.. -of course- we have something for you to do while she's there! *G* You can always volunteer to help out with one of our groups, we can always use help with the younger kids..and I think, if you have one cubby-age, that they ask you to help out in the class once a year.
Of course, there's always shopping if that's not your thing :) *G* AWANA meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the Elementary School, and runs til about 7:45 ish, usually no later than 8. It's really a good program, and I think this year's going to be a very good year for kids, parents and leaders alike! :) Dee :) |
