Lemon Lot

Does anyone know anything about the Lemon Lot at Camp Humprheys? Does it still exist? How do I contact who ever is in charge? Has anyone purchased from them before? What was your experience? I know tons of questions

Re: Lemon Lot

I'm not sure but I always thought a lemon lot was just a designated lot on base that nobody cared if you parked your car there with a for sale sign on it. I didn't think it was anything really organized or had someone over it.

Re: Lemon Lot

The lemon lot here from what i've seen has only had very expensive cars in it. The cheapist car i've seen there was $4,000, I seen a $17,000 jeep for sale there.

Not many of the hoopties go there, because they just put a sign in the window and drive around until it gets sold. Most people still want to drive there car until a few days before they leave.

To get to the lemon lot, with the library on your left go straight through the 4-way intersection, there is a very sharp left turn just before you get to that sharp left turn there is a parking lot on your left. That is the lemon lot.

nearlywild, all lemon lots on any Amy post are very well protected. You must sign your car in usually through the PMO, you also have to show that it is your vechile (registration) and you must usually keep insurance on it while it is in the lemon lot. Depending on what post your at will depend on how long you can keep your car at the lemon lot.

Re: Lemon Lot

At the Osan BX there is a board near the Shopette that has used cars on it. I have seen some cheap ones on there. That is how we found our 2nd car.

Re: Lemon Lot

I'm not sure how it works for Army, but for Air Force, most lemon lots are overseen by Services or the Auto Skills Center..so you might check with the Army equivalent of those, MWR, I believe? They might at least be able to point you in the right direction as far as who's in charge. :)

We're actually thinking about going with a little bit more expensive car due to the fact that we have over 3 years left here. So, if we were to buy one from the lemon lot, we would have to pay cash or get a loan through the bank. Is that correct??

I agree with you, that you shuld get a little bit more expensive car. But i'll tell you I bought an 96 Hyundai accent from a dealer downtown for $1000 and i'll drive it anywhere and i feel my family is safe while me or Renee' is driving it.

Yes if you bought a car off the lemon lot you would have to pay cash.

You could also go down to the AAFES car sales and talk to them about the closeout models for 2007 if you want a new car.

Cool Re: Lemon Lot

The board at Yongsan PX has a nice 1995 Camry 4 cyl w AC for $1375 . It has Right -Hand Drive, but looks good. Lots of Korean cars under $3000.
We don't have a designated lemon lot. They do need to be policed somewhat, or unauthorized dealers will put cars out, and some folks will just park 'em there and go home. Don't forget to look at our own usfkclassifieds .com!

Thanks! We've talked about looking in Yongsan..our only problem is that we wouldn't know how to get home Not yet anyways. I've been stalking usfkclassifieds. It seems that we're either a day late or the person just doesn't respond. One way or another we're going to get a car this next week

Re: Lemon Lot

I don't know what is on the Osan board currently but I got a great car on there. We got a 96 Volvo in perfect condition that is the luxery model for like $5000. It only had one owner and he treated it like his baby so we got a great car. He had to sell because they had to go down to one car and his wife wanted hers.
