Flying Northwest Airlines...?

Hi, guys!

Has anyone had any experience with Northwest Airlines?

We just got our plane tickets for our PCS, and they're through Northwest.. so far, their customer service has been *awesome*, and their rates for taking your dog along are the most reasonable we found! :) Our former neighbor had told us that they were the best for pets, and he as definitely right!

My question is this: We were spoiled on the way over with Korean Air, having the back of seat "entertainment" centers. Do they have these on NW Air as well, or should we plan to bring along the game boy,and ipods? :)

Thanks!

Dee :)

Re: Flying Northwest Airlines...?

Bring the portables. I flew Northwest when I went to Korea and some planes had backseat monitors and some didn't. Trying to remember but it seems to me that the portions of the flight with the individual screens were between Japan and Korea.

Besides, it's a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong flight! I'd bring them anyways in case there aren't many movies that appeal or when you get tired of staring at a movie - you can always break out the games!

Re: Flying Northwest Airlines...?

We just flew Northwest coming back to the peninsula. No individual monitors, all American flight crew (with American attitudes!) except for one Korean attendant and one Chinese attendant, decent meal service (I order vegetarian for myself and child's meals for the kids)...all in all, better than a domestic flight but definitely not up to the standards we had on our Korean Air flights.

Re: Flying Northwest Airlines...?

We flew Northwest this summer (Korea to Seattle with a layover in Japan)when we went to the states and had a great experience. Each seat indiviual tv monitors with a TON of movies and games. We flew Korean Air on the way back to Korea (Virginia to Korea) and I think the Northwest flight was much better. The customer service on Korean Air on and off the plane was downright awful. They had the individual tvs in each seat but there movie selection was no where near as large as Northwests, especially when it came to kids movies.

Re: Flying Northwest Airlines...?

I flew NWA and I think that they are one of the worst airlines that I've ever been on in my life. The seat are really clost together and I didn't think that the service was great at all. They were rude, and wouldn't help me load my carry-on in the over head bins (mind you I was 6 months pregnant), they told me "that's not my job". Wow if that doesn't say something about their airlines I don't know what would.

Re: Flying Northwest Airlines...?

Well, Renee' and Alek are flying NWA as i'm typing this. She had called and reserved seats (there and back) well over a month ago and recieved reservation #'s and all for her seats.

She called 2 days prior to leaving, and they "LOST" her seat reservation, so she talked to them and explained everything, she was actually talking to a manager and after 2 hrs of BS'ing they finally upgraded her to business class.

But looking at the NWA planes most all of them have seat monitors....I guess it's just luck of the draw.....
