Talking what do when?

Ok I was talkin to my Hubby last night and we realized we have several things coming up when I get there that we would need a babysitter for. And I know that several bases have a babysitter club kinda thing. And I was wondering if Humphrey's had something similar. So we could plan ahead. Anyway thanks? Hope to hear from you soon?

Glad you are back on the board....

Are you talking all night baby sitting's? or daily?

What kinda things are coming up that you need to leave your children?

THey do have the Youth center here that provides daily stuff for children, i'm sure msprice could give you more options...

Hope everything worked out well for you........

Red face Re: what do when?

I would just be like to go out at night. My Husband is planning stuff for my birthday and our anniversary is the next month. I am really picky about my boys and who watches them just trying to get a idea of whats up. Ft Hood would give you a list of certified babysitters to call which was great. Thanks!

Re: what do when?

Sorry did not mean to intrude, I though you were talking military stuff.

I'm sure you'll meet someone who is a certified babysitter, there are ALOT of teenage children in APT complexs that you get to know. I'm sure there is a list of babysitters on post, someone will have a better answer for you.

I *think* they do this here too. I don't have children so I'm not positive on that, it's just what someone has told me. I think you go through ACS to get the names. I do know that babysitters have to be a certain age and that they have to take a sitter class through the Red Cross here.

I babysit in my home for a couple ladies. If you ever need anything just let me know.

Re: what do when?

I know that the spouses club here on Osan has a list of babysitters. I don't know about Camp Humphreys but I would look into the spouses club when you get here.

I am also very picky about who I leave my son with. I have made a few friends since I arrived and I plan on leaving my son with one of them for delivery. I just prefer to have another mom babysit than a teenager. But my son is still young.

A great place to make friends is at playgroup. I don't know how old your kids are. I take my son (almost 2) to playgroup twice a week and it is a great opertunity to meet to other moms. I'm on Osan but I'm sure Humphreys should have a playgroup as well.

I don't personally have kids. Most my friends do. So don't quote me. But Humphreys does have a playgroup. When my friend went she said it was mostly babies and not kids her sons age (2years). I do not know about any babysitting list or anything. People find me through someone who knows someone else type of things.

Re: what do when?

Humphrey's has a play group from 10:00-12:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays at the CYS in the ballet room. That was a mouth full! Last time I took my daughter they were trying to get a schedule down where there would be arts & crafts on Wednesday and a small field trip on Fridays. We took a field trip to the Fire Dept. (just across the street) and also to the housing play ground.

As far as the ages of the children it varies greatly from week to week and even day to day. Some moms only go on Wednesday or Friday. So you may go Wednesday and it might be all toddlers but if you go Friday it might be all babies and vice versa. I do know that the number of children this past winter was low. My guess is that moms were not wanting to walk because it was freezing!

It's a good time for the kids though and a great way to meet other moms.
As far as babysitting, I'm sure ACS has a list of who's certified because I believe they offer the classes. That's where I would start looking. Also, you might try calling the CDC. They may have employees who are looking to earn extra money:)

Edited to say: Play group is on Monday & Friday. Wednesday at 10:00 is story time. Sorry for the blond moment.
