BIG passposrt question!!!
Okay, we are coming to OSAN (CS) RNLTD June 30, 08...I applied for me and my two sons passports and VISAS through our military personel and we are in the "waiting game", week 4 to be exact!! Now,, I was told by someone that use to live overseas that I needed to also get personal passports???? for me and my two boys????? through a place not military related if I was planning on doing any traveling (like "hops" to Japan etc..) or any type of travel not military related. IS THIS TRUE? Does anyone know? Should I stress over this one while I am stressing over everything else?
I appreciate any and all advice. Kim |

Re: BIG passport question!!!
No. It might be a good idea if you wanted to conceal your official status when going to China, etc., and it is written that it is recommended somewhere for that reason. You do not have to. Those that have both sometimes carry two and get confused which one they left Korea on and when they try to return they need to use the same one, or cause more confusion. I go anywhere with the official one. You need to make sure it has 6 months left on your Korean visa when visiting certain countries, I'm told.

Re: BIG passposrt question!!!
I always heard that, too, that we need a seperate passport for touring. Our CS passports have this in the back which implies that it is for entering the country with orders only. My friends here have seperate passports for touring.

Re: BIG passposrt question!!!
Here's what the State Department says. http://travel.state.gov/passport/get...nofee_836.html
You are supposed to have a regular passport for personal travel. I wouldn't worry about it now though. You can always get one when you get here.
