New Homeschooling/Distance Learning Option....
Hi, all!
Since Hubby's a student at Liberty University, we get lots of mailings and updates about campus activities. With homeschooling being a concern for many NCS folks, I thought I'd pass along a little info we just received. Liberty University is now offering a Distance Learning Academy for kids in grades 3-12. It's fully accredited, and all classes are held online, so it -could- be a viable option for a homeschooling parent. Enrollment can be either full or part-time. 11th and 12th graders also have the option of earning college credit as well, with Liberty's DLP program. It -is- a Christian school, so for those who would prefer that religion not be included in your classes, I wouldn't recommend it, but for those who don't mind, it might be an alternative for you. Like any private school, there is tuition involved, it's certainly not a free education, but one nice thing about any tuition you pay, in this program , is that it's all applied to a scholarship that can be used later on if your child attends Liberty University. For anyone who might be interested in the program, more info can be found at: http://www.libertyonlineacademy.com/ Dee :) |

Re: New Homeschooling/Distance Learning Option....
I have been researching this option as I have 2 middleschoolers and while I applaud home schoolers, I think that distance learning is a better option for my family -
I have come across 2 schools that are very reasonably priced, accredited and have a distance learning option The Calvert School http://www.calvertschool.org/service...t-interactive/ and Keystone National Middle School http://www.keystonemiddleschool.com/ Laurel Springs http://www.laurelsprings.com/ has anyone had any experience with these schools?
