BAH questions
Does anyone know if the AD member goes on a remote tour to Osan AB unaccompanied and the family moves back home, what BAH do they receive? We still do not have a follow on and have decided to go back to TX while he is away. Do we get BAH for losing base or follow on base or where we are located?
does anyone know where it says that in the jftr? |

Re: BAH questions
I don't know where it say it, but you will get bah for your losing base (McGuire) not your location that you are actually at (Texas). This could be in your favor because I believe the BAH for NJ is higher than Texas (depending on where in TX you go).

The Joint Travel Regulations govern all Military Services and their Civilians.
There are also DOD regulations for DOD Civilians. Read carefully for the applicable regs for your situation. Big changes were made in January 2008. The BAH in the JTR for Military is variable by location, yet applies equally throughout all services. My computer is slow today, so I won't look it up now. I'm sure redsonja is right. You can understand the reasoning, because, if you could get higher BAH in some other state just by moving there for a year, many folks would move to Hawaii, for instance, just to get the higher pay.
