Re: DEE DEE This one's for you!!!!
LOL.. Yes, I actually knew this one was up there..
Talk about a mother's pride and joy... your son's 15 minutes of fame, and he's talking about ripping someone's gonads off :) LOL :) ![]() They taped the segment at one of the USO wrestling shows that came through last winter -I remember the night they did the interview, the reporters were laughing so hard as they were taping it that they actually had to step away from the camera. I had a pretty good idea then that we were in trouble. The segment actually aired while we were still in Korea.. I didn't see it when it initially aired, but had an idea I was in trouble when Alex, if you remember her, met me at the entrance to the BX and said "I saw your son on tv last night..he's very -animated- isn't he?" .. I saw the interview later that evening, and just *died* :) One thing about Aric, he's definitely never been shy. :) It was so funny, until the day we left, every once in awhile, someone would stop Aric and say something about the spot. We were walking in downtown Songtan once, and two airmen walked by,and actually stopped us.. "Look, it's the gonad kid!". Once in the commissary, two other little kids started pointing at him and said "Hey, it's that kid from the tv"..and another day, a lady in Burger King stopped him and actually asked him for his autograph. :) To say that he loved the attention would be an understatement... we're beginning to think that he's going to end up with a career in the media, since he was -also- singled out by the local news here for an interview when the Iwo Jima survivors visited at the school here. *G* And yes, we shared the youtube video with all the friends and family back home...and my cousin sent me an email, and said .."Yep, if I ever had any doubts that kid got our family genetics.. they're gone now" :) Dee :) and yes, I miss Korea too. :) I think that those of us who all arrived there around the same time were so blessed with a neat sense of community..we all really were not just friends, but a great support network.. and I think the experience bonded us in a way that has lasted even after we left. I said it before, I'll say it again.. We were.. "The few, the brave.. the utterly insane" ... NCS spouses 'r' us. :) LOL :) Last edited by rndspringer : 08-04-2008 at 01:33 PM. |

How's Sheppard treating you? I moved on to Ohio were Ken is going to be a recruiter. The nearest base is 3 hours away, so I REALLY miss that sense of community |
