?

How many wives went after their Dh left. I am asking bc I was wondering if it would be a better idea for my DH to go first and then us follow. So that way we will not be stuck in a hotel for so long. We are CS and are suppose to be going to Yongsan. Also how long is the wait for housing in HV? We are suppose to get a 4 bedroom there. TY SO MUCH!

Re: ?

We are at Osan but the first part of your post applies. We waited and came after my husband arrived. We actually came about 6 weeks later. By that time he was able to have everything set up for us and help us with inprocessing. It also gave him a chance to get the lay of the land. Once we arrived he was already checked in and concentrated on getting us all checked in which we accomplished in less than a week. He had already done the leg work before we arrived. Also he was able to sign me up for the spouse orientation after I arrived and get the kids registered for school. He was even able to receive our unaccompanied baggage, get his car, and get moved into our apartment. This meant we were able to come directly to our new home without having to do the "hotel" thing. That was a welcomed relief after such an exhausting journey. I am sure others will have different opinions but that was our experience. Good luck and know that in the end, no matter which way you do it, things will work out. Korea has so much to offer--get out and enjoy!!!!

Re: ?

We came together as a family and I am happy and relieved we did. I have two boys and we were traveling with a dog so I needed all the back up support I could get. It was nice to pass off to DH when I got tired and I had help. It definetly has it pros and cons to come with or wait. I truly believe it all depends on your family needs. It would of been nice to have had one of us over the jetlag so we could of tag teamed the boys a little better. But all in all I was glad to have my Dh help us get through customs and all. See I am naming some pros and cons right there...LOL!!! Anyway safe travels to you and your family!

Re: ?

We were in DHL for a couple weeks, however we stayed with DH for the majority of that time in his room on post. I'm not sure about the wait for Hannam, because we elected to live on the economy in Area I, then at a later date decided moving down here to Yongsan would be the better bet. Once he applied for the house down here in Hannam, it took us about a month to get our place.

DD and I came a month after DH... because of the wait it took to get our passports/visas.
