How did you deal with the stupid people that try to say stupid comments about you going to Korea or am I the only one has encountered this problem? I had to take my older boys father to court for me to take them with me and he told the judge the reason he didn't want his boys to be hit with a bomb bc of NK! The cop that was beside me laughed at him. Then tonight at a friends house made me made bc she said are you sure you want to take your family over there? Hello my DH is korean and I have a half korean child are you this stupid? I think some people are just plain ignorant!!!!

Yah I just ignore them mostly. It's easy for friends and family and even those slight acquaintances to offer their two cents. It's hard for them to know what it feels like for this lifestyle and they will never know until it has been lived. You always want to judge from the outside in.. it's just human nature. That's why I ignore..

No one ever tried to talk me out of coming except my work.. but that's just bc they didn't want me to leave. Everyone else has understood from day 1 that wherever the Army takes me that will allow me to go, I will most likely always follow. Even here.

It's not just you. My father in law told me to watch my kids because the koreans would try to kidnap them because there is a big slave market over here.

When I fist came to Korea, I was 19; everyone said '"Don't bring back one of those girls from over there!" I did. Forty-Nine years later she is still with me. I'll never figure out why, but I'm glad!

Its just sad that their are people in the world like this. Glad to know I am not alone though. I am trying to just ignore it bc I will be leaving soon and I don't want the drama of letting them know how I feel but I honestly don't know how much longer this mouth will stay shut!

WE actually had a lot of comments made to us as well and thought it was horrible that we were bringing our family over here. It mostly came from closeminded folks that had little to no knowledge of our military and the importance of what they do to maintain our freedom. I found myself explaining and defending the whole Korea thing which what I really wanted to say is please support us in our FAMILY decision. We have endured back to back multiple deployments and just the thought of having my family together for 2-years makes me glad and proud to be here. WE have been in country now for 2-months and it has been great, the folks here have been very welcoming. Enjoy your time together as a family and get out and see all the things you can.
