Stop complaining about gas prices!

Why do I have to hear about gas prices everyday on TV and radio?

Let's make this clear. It is NOT your right to have low gas prices. I hear people getting interviewed on TV that gas prices need to be lower like it is somewhere in the Bill of Rights. I have always driven fuel efficient cars and hardly see a difference.

Gas prices are rising due to the strong demand in India and China, and due to the consumer buying SUVs and trucks instead of cars. Europeans and Americans learned nothing from the oil crisis in the 70s and continue to buy trucks, SUVs and Hummers. Add to the demand the millions of Indians and Chinese buying cars for the first time and you have high gas prices world wide.

I am in favor of rising gas prices. Why? Because as gas prices rise a market for non-gas fuels begin to open up. Alternative fuels only seem to get attention when gas prices rise. I hope gas prices hit $4+ a gallon. This will result in dozens of companies offering alternative fuels that are cheaper and cleaner than gas.

One of my biggest disagreements with President Bush is that he has not pushed hard enough on alternative fuels. The U.S. could become the future king in fuel and run the fuel market much like Saudi Arabia does today. There is no other country in the world that can grow corn like the U.S.

There are a lot of SUV's in Europe? Public transpostation I believe is better and cheaper in Europe, and probably so is PT in the ROK. Isn't petrol politics fun.

I agree and i dis-agree with you Mike.

How can the oil companies make so much money and the oil output not be up as much as they say?

I believe exxon made over 50% profit over there predicted profit last year?

I agree with you that people are buying more and more SUV's and something must be done. BUt should the oil companies profit from it, "that much"?
