Enron Founder Kenneth Lay dies at age 64

It looks like Ken Lay died of a massive heart attack today. I hate to see anyone die, but his death may put to bed the Enron scandal. I am sure the stress of prison had a lot to do with his heart attack.

It is tragic for those loose a loved one and a close friend. While they are mourning, some of those affected by the Enron scandal may see satisfaction or disapointment. Kenny boy most likely would of served his time at Club Fed. The stress of going to prison may have played a major role and certainly may be stressful. Club Fed isn't your typical federal prison and would of been less stressful than spending a few days in the county jail. I'm just wondering why Martha Stewart wasn't housed there. FPB is a trip.

The Washington Journal on C-Span had about a 30 minute call-in session/reading of editorial pages. Very comedic stuff. Some felt sorry for the guy, some didn't and a few thought he was still alive (they must of been fans of the X-Files). One guy barked as to why no republicans did community service/ volunteer work. Strange question since the topic was Kenny Boy. Moments later someone else called up and said that republicians are too busy developing new businesses and he just opened 2 up himself and had to keep the payroll going. Whether you like him or not several things can be said:

1) Kenny Boy didn't favor one political party over the other.
2) Remember the billionaire that Clinton pardoned.
3) Enron most likely started during the Clinton years, not GW watch.
4) Eventhough Kenny Boy passed away, he still won't have to pay his victims one penny for his criminal acts!
5) Bush didn't rescue him, he was convicted awaiting appeal.

I think it was some SF paper wrote that Kenny Boy still had a lavished lifestyle to the end. I'm just curious what precautions are in place since Enron, Tyson, and Worldcom if any?
