Paypal scams increasing!

I am now receiving 3-4 Paypal scams a day. The criminals are getting better and better. They send you e-mails like, "Thanks for you payment to Jim." Then they show you that you paid $200. They scare you into thinking, "I never paid a guy named Jim!" Then you click on their bogus link and type in your account information.

Why are there so many scumbags out there and why is the government doing so little? I understand that many of the scumbags are from other countries and the U.S. government can do very little. We need stronger internet laws in the U.S. and around the world! People that are not good with the internet will fall for this scam!

Mike, i have been scammed myself. Thank good i only put money in that account when i know i'll be buying something. The only way i noticed it was i had a $25 NSF fee on my bank statment? Dug a little deeper and found out it was PayPal for $780. Thank goodness i did not have that much money in my account. I went to paypal and filed a complaint and with my bank i ended up getting the $25 NSF fee back.

After that no more PayPal!

They're going beyond Paypal...

Beware of other hoaxes like...

Quote:
We recently reviewed your account, and suspect that your (Bank Name) Internet Banking account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. Protecting the security of your account and of the (Bank Name) network is our primary concern. Therefore, as a preventative measure, we have temporarily limited access to sensitive account features.
Then there is a link provided in the email that's supposed to lead you into the login page...pretty slick. Then link name looks legit, but when you follow it, you go to some weird, unknown IP address in the address bar. The page looks legit, too!

The sad thing is Paypal (owned by Ebay) seems to do little. If you do find a scam forward it to spoof@paypal.com. I do it every time I get a scam e-mail, but it seems to do little. All Paypal does is tell you "We know" in a reply. Google is coming out with Gmoney and will force Paypal to start being competitive. Hopefully, the competition will force Paypal to be more secure and take care of their customers.
