Unhappy The educated

I couldn't watch the video

but I saw where a prof at the U of Wis. was offering an introduction to Islam class where part of the semester would be spent -----

---- looking over the "mountain of irrefutable scientific evidence" that the World Trade Center towers were ----

---- brought down in a controlled demonlition ----

----but elements of the US government ----

----in a black bag operation ----

---designed to galvanize the American people behind a new war on terror through which the US could extend its control into much of the world.

The prof also said it was highly likely the US secret agencies were behind the bombings in Madrid and London.

I used to think the more education a person had, the smarter they were.

I was such a dumbass.......

Re: The U.S. was behind 9-11!

I have no problem with professors being as cooky as they want AS LONG as they keep it out of the classroom. We already have enough useless college classes and to start bringing anti-U.S. classes to American universities is an idiotic idea.

Re: The U.S. was behind 9-11!

Maybe it's like an exercise.

You know I don't understand where these people get some of their ideas. I would love to know where they get thei "proof" from. I find it extreamly hard to believe that anyone in our goverment would intentionally kill thousands of Americans for the purpose of justifing a war. How sadistic is that?!

BTW Mike I love your avatar it cracks me up everytime I see it :)

Does no one else find it ironic that Oliver North was the second guest (interviewer)?

Thumbs down Re: The U.S. was behind 9-11!

It is not suprising to see Koreans dig into these conspiracy theories.

I tell this story often -- because I think it is extremely telling of how South Korean society likes to entertain the worst when it comes to the US as a nation.

I was in Korea for the 1 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

I was in Kyobo bookstore --- which I'm sure any Western expat in Korea is familiar with - it is one of the largest in the nation in Seoul.

My wife was looking for Korean books to take back home with us, and I was milling about.

I started to notice some well placed 9/11 anniversary display stands. There were about 7 of them or so placed in all the strategic locations in the store.

They were getting a pretty good amount of attention by Korean passers-by.

Here is what they were getting to see on that anniversary:

A translation of the French book that said it was a CIA conspiracy.

A translation of a Japanese book that seemed to argue the same theme.

The book Gangster America.

A couple of other books about US bully geopolitics.

And 3 or 4 translations of Noam Chompsky books that were written well before 9/11.

There was not a single book that you could even consider neutral. Nothing like a Life Magazine pictorial essay.

It was all about either how the US faked the attacks or brought it upon itself.

And the most important point ----

--- this was not some leftist bookstore.

It was not the Yonsei University student center bookstore.

It was not a Hanchongryong hangout.

It was one of the biggest mainstream bookstores in Korea -- located in the heart of Seoul ---- frequented by all kinds of expats and Koreans alike.

And it was simply put ----- hateful.......
