UK, US to withdraw Iraq forces by early '07: papers
I think it is an excellent idea to start removing troops now and all of them one year from now. I think everyone in America is starting to get "Iraq Fatigue" no matter if you are a Democrat, Republican or in between. The ball needs to be handed of the Iraqis. It is the Iraqi people who must complete the Iraqi mission. I believe the U.S. military and the coalition have done their part and we should only have a small force in the country for training, etc.

Mike,
I don't see all the forces being pulled from Iraq by 2007. I think there will be a big draw down and if I was to estimate I bet there will be 50,000 troops left in the country by the end of 2007. The President will not give up on Iraq and withdrawing all the forces would look like we gave up. But leaving lets say a brigade in Kuwait, a brigade in the Green Zone, a division in Kurdistan, and another brigade along the Syrian border would be enough forces left there to take care of any large scale fighting but shouldn't be used for daily patrols and police activities. That is where the majority of the US casualties is coming from is from daily patrols and getting hit by IED's. |

I agree that we will have to leave some forces behind, but I am not so sure it will be like Germany or Japan. Also, it looks like the U.S. military has denied the story. It makes sense as the U.S. military should not set a time table for withdrawal in the media, even if it is true. We don't want the terrorists to know any dates.

I read that before and it went in one eyeball and out the other. I just figured you were in Songtan from the bar reviews. Silly me. |

I do publish the bar reviews, but I have friends that actually do the rules. I try to separate myself from the bar review process to make them independent. I build ads and websites for many of the businesses downtown. I couldn't be an honest bar reviewer if I am accepting money from them.
I am in need of more bar reviewers, so if you get interested just let men know.
