Why is it that, the statement is such a fact? Why are we so obsesed with it? I find it interesting especially men, who are really the most interested in it and also the most uptight about it. It really hit me today as I watched several comercials in a row during the evening news and each one was using sex appeal in one way or another to sell a product. Has the advertising on TV in Korea taken the same route?

It is a known fact that beauty is more cherished in society and sex is always on the minds of women and men. men seem to be more primitive when it comes to sex.

Does anyone doubt that better looking people get hired at a higher rate? Or get promotions at a higher rate? Most people associate good looks and with success and intelligence. I guess that is from watching TV and movies with all those beautiful, smart and successful people on the screen.

Have you ever seen an ugly looking receptionist?

As a matter of fact, yes. When I look at a receptionist (as most people) I don't care what they look like if they do there job and do it good then who really cares what they look like. This goes for good looking people and ugly people.

But define ugly and good looking.....that is something that 1 person can only do for him/herself. Your define ugly as "this" someone else may find your ugly as beautiful?

I agree to a point? But what i've seen is that woman have been hidden and under the radar when it comes to sexual attraction and showing affection in public. Over the last several years woman have stepped up.

HUMAN NATURE! NOT TO MENTION THAT HUMANS ARE ANIMALS FIRST, HUMAN SECOND! We were created to reproduce. Don't believe that women are less interested. It is a more selective thing for them. The females of the animal species are programmed to unconsciously look for the best candidate to produce the best offspring. There is no way to explain their choice or selection criteria. Watch the pigeons in the park. the male dances and fluffs his feathers and prances and parades around for a few minutes in front of a female that exhibits little interest, yet exudes a special scent that tells him she is fertile. After pretending no interest for a while, she stands still for a few seconds. Thats all it takes. The male animal will fight or compete in some way for the attention of the female. Quite a subject to study.

Ugly vs Pretty? Yes. Ugly receptionist? Yes. But only if the Boss is a female, or if Male, had his wife help choose her! (Or she IS the wife!)
(If my wife sees this I will lie about writing it. Actually, she is a beauty!)

Why then is it that in every species, Humans are one of the exceptions, is it the men are the pretty ones the colorful feathers etc prancing around to impress the women. Humans it is the woman who is pretty and always putting on a show.

I also believe beauty is a perception but you don't see non curvy bowlegged women with buck teeth doing beer commercials do you.

And a BIG Thank You goes out to marketers around the world for not putting ugly people in their commercials. The majority of the people on this planet are not beautiful. In fact, we are called "average looking" for a reason. When I go to buy a product, I WANT a little bit of that escapism. I want to think that if I buy this or that product, then I'll be up there with the others. Look at Axe Body Sprays. Hello! Great freaking marketing! Make a product that is ok, target your audience as young men, and then make them feel like if they wear that product, then they will be more attractive. That's great! In fact, I'm sitting here now in my Ambercrombie and Fitch shorts, Aerospotle shirt, spraying myself down with Axe Body Spray, hoping to one day have gorgeous ladies throw themselves at me as I walk down the grocery store aisle.

Sad, pathetic, but that's how we are...

It is funny because the Chosun Ilbo came out with an article this week title Are you a Sex Addict. This is the funny cartoon to go with it.

7. If I can't have sex, I only feel gratified if I masturbate and sleep.
8. I feel like a Don Juan.
9. You feel attracted to even you're friends' girlfriends.
10. You feel sexual cravings, regardless of place or time.
11. If you're alone, you go to places like massage parlors, barber shops or brothels to have sex.
12. You feel strong urges for perverted sex.
13. You wonder from time to time whether you think of sex too much.
14. You feel insecure and find it hard to bear when you can't have sex when you'd like.
15. Besides the time spent having real sex, you spend time nearly everyday enjoying indirect sex (through the Internet, porn, etc.).
For adult males, if four or fewer of the 15 articles apply to you, you're within safe bounds. Five to eight means you might be at risk, where as nine to 11 means you must be on your guard against developing a full-blown case of sex addiction. 12 or more means you may be in danger of moving into the final stage of sex addiction.
