Re: About American's family relationships.
The chart in your picture only refers to immediate 'in-law' relationships. It does not come close to laying out the entire family realtionship tree. There has been a false perception of the American family generated by other societies for many decades. The fact is that American family relationships are some of the most complex in the world. We have absorbed many cultures, including Korean culture, and their family customs. Freedom and diversity make for far more complex and interesting social and family structures than does a society where everyone is much the same in their social philosophy.

Re: About American's family relationships.
Very true Turk. My oldest sisters son just married a Japanese girl as he is working over there. Not a real popular choice with my wife but I told her it is her fault as she was the first Asian in the family. I think the only reason my mom finally accepted my wife was because of my oldest sisters ready acceptance of Korean customs and the fact my dad loved her cooking.
